Tea for One is an example of the conscientious exact reproduction of a real still life. This image can be printed four feet wide such that the twists of the threads in the doily can be counted. Although a very exact reproduction, it is heavily digitally processed. It's the composite of eleven film exposures, eight for different focal ranges of the image, two for highlights, and one for shadow. The light range of the object was about fifteen stops. Separate exposures were made for color control. | ||
